We Want Your Kids to Love Church.

That’s why we are committed to creating safe and fun environments where your children are taught about the Bible and the love of Jesus through relevant, age-appropriate kids services. Our ultimate hope is to see a generation of children come to know God at an early age.

Nursery  Ages Six weeks – Twenty-Three months

Our nursery rooms are well staffed and prepared with age-appropriate toys that are thoroughly cleaned every week. As our team holds your baby, we pray for them to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference throughout their life.

Preschool  Ages Two – Kindergarten

In our preschool rooms, children learn the Bible through age-appropriate activities like stories, crafts, and Bible action songs that reinforce Bible truths. They are also given the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with their friends and teachers.

Elementary  First – Fifth Grade

Our services are designed to present the love of Jesus to elementary kids in a way that is exciting and makes sense to them. Every week they get to play games, experience dynamic worship, work on a Bible memory verse, learn an interesting object lesson, and receive prayer and make friends in a small group.

“Hello Zeal Families! If we haven’t already met on a Sunday morning, my name is Marilynn Porritt! I get the fulfilling, crazy, fun, exciting opportunity of leading as the Director of Zeal Kids. I had never seen myself in Kids ministry before stepping foot into Zeal Church back in 2015.  Growing up surrounded by a family of educators created this strong desire in my heart to invest in the next generation. This led me to pursue my master’s degree in School Psychology and become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.  After graduation, I received my dream job as an Educational Consultant in the Department of Special Education at Vanderbilt University.

After accepting the job and moving to Nashville, I quickly got introduced to Zeal Church without knowing how much this family would change the trajectory of my life. Serving several hundred schools across middle Tennessee and working with kids of all ages and backgrounds was one of the most rewarding things I have ever gotten the honor of doing, however, now I know it was all preparation. In 2018, I took a step of faith into full time ministry as the Zeal Kids Director believing that my background in education and my experiences working with kids was preparing me to serve the families of Nashville while building the thing God is most passionate about…His church.  I’m so excited to get to know you and your families, help empower you as parents, and give kids every opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ!”

"Hey guys! My name is Megan Beard, and I get the privilege of serving as the Zeal Kids Elementary Coordinator. My journey to get to this point has been anything but boring. April of 2015 after a spontaneous move to Nashville to finish my nursing degree at Belmont University I found Zeal Church.  Within a matter of months, God opened my heart and eyes to this joy and fulfillment that had been hidden before serving the local Church.  After prayerful consideration, I said yes to full-time ministry, graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and went full time at Zeal Church.  It has been a blast serving as the Elementary Coordinator.  I love that I get to spend my weeks coming up with creative ways to make church fun for your kids, help find ways to connect them to life-giving friends, and ultimately see you grow as a family closer to all God has for you!”

Hi! My name is Ashley Schmidt and I have the privilege of serving the families of Zeal Church as the Preschool & Nursery Coordinator in Zeal Kids! I moved to Nashville and have been at Zeal Church for almost two years after following God’s persistent tug at my heart for this city.

The call of children’s ministry has always been on my life; however, I’ve had the opportunity to live out that calling in many different ways over the years. Before moving to Nashville, I worked in a pediatric behavioral health hospital, then, as a social worker for the Department of Children’s Services. While in these roles I was able to serve families and children of all ages who desperately needed someone to advocate for them and to show them the love of Christ in a tangible way.

Growing up as a missionary kid in Latin America, I had the distinct opportunity to be surrounded by biblical truth and learn the importance of sharing the love of God to those around us at a very young age. That background shaped the foundation of my walk with God and has been something I have leaned on throughout the years. This is one of the many reasons I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of Zeal Church and am so honored to have the opportunity to partner with you to teach your children about a big God who loves them.

Thank you for allowing us the honor of serving your kids and your family each Sunday.  Please, never hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
