The Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

-Ephesians 6:10

God didn’t create us to operate under our own power or rely on our own strengths and abilities.   When we do that, we feel zapped, drained and empty.  When we look closely at what is truly missing in our lives, our careers, our marriages, our friendships, often it is the power of God.  God created us to be secure in Him and mighty in His power.  During this 21 day journey of prayer and fasting, we have an opportunity to put aside the idea that we are supposed to do life on our own.  We have a chance to make room for God to work in us, our families and our church.   God’s power in all circumstances is one of His greatest gifts, and when we are filled with the influence and capabilities of His  Holy Spirit, we are fully equipped to accomplish what He created us to do.  Ask yourself as we pray together today, where you need Gods power, and give Him the space he needs in your life to do all things.

God, Forgive us for the times in our lives when we forget how mighty and powerful you are.   Help us to focus on your strengths and not our weaknesses, and demonstrate the power of your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.
